1Reservations & Bookings

How to secure your spot on the water.

• All reservations require a valid credit or debit card at the time of booking.
• Online bookings are confirmed by email within minutes; if you don't see it after 30 minutes, please check spam or contact us.
• Pop-up and call-in rentals are subject to availability — booking ahead is recommended, especially on weekends and holidays.
• Group bookings of 6 or more guests require at least 72 hours advance reservation. Group pricing is available for parties of 8 or more — please inquire when booking.
• Primary renter must be at least 21 years old, present at the launch location for the duration of the rental, and is the financially responsible party for the reservation.
• Operators (anyone driving the GoBoat) must be at least 16 years old and supervised by the Primary Renter or another adult member of the rental party.
• Minors under 18 must have a Parent/Guardian Consent on file before boarding.
• We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone appearing intoxicated, impaired, or presenting safety concerns. Florida law also prohibits alcohol or drug use while operating a vessel.

2Payment

What to expect when it's time to pay.

• Full rental amount is charged at the time of booking, including any selected packages and add-ons.
• Accepted payment methods: all major credit and debit cards. Cash is accepted for in-person pop-up rentals. We do not accept personal checks.
• Rental rates, packages, and add-ons are as shown in the reservation summary at the time of booking and are locked in at that price.
• Damage, loss, cleaning beyond normal use, late returns, and other charges authorized in the Rental Agreement may be billed to the payment method on file after the rental.

3Cancellation & Reschedule

Plans change — here's how we handle it.

• No-shows are non-refundable. A no-show means arriving more than 15 minutes after your scheduled departure time without having contacted us. We may offer a credit toward a future rental at our discretion, case by case.
• You may reschedule a reservation one (1) time at no charge with at least 48 hours notice. Further reschedules are at our discretion and may incur a fee.
• If we cancel before departure due to unsafe weather or water conditions, you'll be offered a full refund or a free reschedule.
• Weather during your rental: Florida weather is unpredictable and can change fast — please plan accordingly. Report any weather or safety concern to us right away. If we end a rental early for safety and you've been on the water less than 2 hours, you'll receive a 50% credit toward a future rental (valid 12 months). Rentals cut short after 2 hours aren't eligible for a credit.

4Weather & Safety

Your safety comes first — always.

• Maximum speed is 5 mph. Operate slowly and carefully at all times, and at idle/no-wake speed near docks, ramps, swimmers, wildlife, shorelines, bridges, moored or anchored vessels, other vessels, and restricted areas.
• Daylight hours only. All rentals must be operated during daylight, and the vessel must be returned to the launch location before sunset.
• Stay within the approved rental area. Operation is limited to the protected inland and Intracoastal waters communicated at check-in (Matanzas River, Palm Coast, Flagler Beach, and the St. Augustine Intracoastal). No ocean, surf-zone, inlet, offshore, or night operation, and no beach launch or landing. Without written authorization, the vessel may not travel more than 3 nautical miles from the launch point.
• Never leave the vessel unattended. An approved adult operator must remain with the vessel and able to control, secure, and recover it whenever it is afloat, anchored, beached, tied, or docked. Do not dock, tie up, beach, or leave the vessel at any dock, marina, restaurant, seawall, or shoreline unless our staff authorize it.
• Prohibited activities: towing or pulling any object or device not provided by Salt & Springs (Salt & Springs equipment, such as the Dog Dock, may be used only as directed by our staff); tubing, water-skiing, racing, diving/scuba, commercial fishing, night navigation, vessel-to-vessel transfers, subleasing, carrying unlisted passengers, or operating while impaired. (Using your hands, paddle, or feet to safely maneuver, beach, or free the vessel is fine.)
• Rentals may be delayed, shortened, or cancelled due to lightning within 8 miles, sustained winds above 15 mph, dangerous tides or surf, manatee activity, or other hazardous conditions.
• Report any accident, injury, collision, grounding, equipment failure, or unsafe condition immediately and stop operating until staff authorize you to continue. We may be required to report boating accidents to the FWC.
• For safety and theft prevention, our vessels may contain GPS, Bluetooth/Apple AirTag, or other tracking devices. Do not tamper with, disable, or remove any tracking or safety device.
• All guests must follow safety instructions from Salt & Springs staff at all times.
• U.S. Coast Guard approved life jackets (PFDs) are provided for every passenger and are available for use at no charge. Florida law requires all children under 6 to wear a properly fitting PFD at all times while underway. We strongly encourage all guests, regardless of age or swimming ability, to wear a PFD on the water.
• Swimming ability is strongly recommended for all participants.
• Boating is physically active and involves inherent risks. Please assess your own fitness for the activity, consult your physician if you have any health condition or injury, and decide whether a rental is right for you — you know your own abilities best.
• Alcohol, marijuana, and other impairing substances are strictly prohibited before and during the rental. No one may operate or ride while impaired. Violation is grounds for immediate termination with no refund.

5Equipment & Rental

Treat our gear like your own.

• All equipment is inspected — and may be photographed — before and after each rental to document its condition.
• Guests are financially responsible for the equipment from checkout to return, including the vessel hull, motor, battery, charger, paddle/oar, anchor, pump, life jackets, custom battery tray, seat, safety equipment, accessories, and any add-ons.
• Report any damage or issue immediately — do not attempt to use damaged equipment. Quick reporting often means no charge if it's normal wear.
• Damage, loss & theft: you are responsible for the actual cost to repair damaged equipment or, if repair is not commercially reasonable, the cost to replace it with equivalent equipment. Lost or stolen equipment is charged at replacement cost. Recovery, transportation, cleaning, administrative, and collection costs may also apply.
• Equipment must be returned by the agreed-upon time. Late returns are charged at $50 per hour (or fraction of an hour) in addition to the rental rate. If a vessel is unnecessarily overdue more than 4 hours after the contracted time, Florida law requires us to notify law enforcement.
• We deliver and recover all boats. You may not transport, trailer, load, unload, remove from the launch area, store, or keep the vessel or equipment overnight unless we approve it in writing.
• No equipment may be subleased, shared outside the rental party, or taken outside the approved operating area.

6Liability & Assumption of Risk

Adventure involves risk — here's what to know.

• Boating and water activities inherently involve risk that cannot be eliminated.
• Every adult participant must sign a Participant Waiver before departure. Every minor requires Parent/Guardian Consent on file.
• Salt & Springs Outfitters is not liable for personal property brought aboard or left at the launch location. Please secure phones, wallets, sunglasses, and other valuables.
• The Rental Agreement and Waivers — signed at booking — govern the legal terms of your rental. The policies on this page summarize and supplement those documents.

7Minors

Bringing kids along? Here's what to know.

• Children under 6: must wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket at all times while onboard, per Florida law.
• Minors under 18: require a signed Parent/Guardian Consent on file. The Primary Renter is responsible for ensuring this is completed before departure.
• Operators must be 16 or older.

8Pets

Bring the dog. Seriously.

• Well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome at the launch location.
• Dogs are welcome on our GoBoats with the optional Dog Dock add-on (a stable platform for your pup to ride comfortably). See rentals for pricing.
• Pet owners are responsible for cleanup and any damage caused by their animals.
• For everyone's safety, all dogs aboard must be leashed or in a secure harness during the rental.

9Photography & Media

Capturing your coastal memories.

• Salt & Springs staff may photograph or video the experience for marketing, social media, and our website.
• Adults: If you prefer not to be photographed, please notify staff before your activity begins. By participating without notifying staff in advance, you consent to use of your image and likeness in our marketing.
• Minors: Photography of minors requires affirmative consent from the parent or legal guardian. This is captured during the Minor Waiver at booking and defaults to "no" if not explicitly checked.
• Guest photos tagging @SaltAndSpringsOutfitters on social media may be reshared by us with credit.
• We will not knowingly share any image in a defamatory or embarrassing manner.

10Privacy

How we handle your information.

• We collect only the information needed to complete your reservation and run your trip safely — name, email, phone, billing details, and any guest information captured in the booking flow.
• Payment information is processed by our payment processor (Stripe) and is never stored on our servers.
• We do not sell or share personal information with third parties except as required to complete your booking (e.g., payment processor, email confirmation provider).
• By booking with us, you agree to receive transactional emails (confirmations, reminders, follow-ups). Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link.

11Florida Fishing Regulations

Know before you go — stay legal on the water.

Fishing is recreational only — commercial fishing, fishing guiding, paid charters, netting, trapping, and the use of commercial fishing gear are prohibited. If you're fishing during your rental, you're responsible for understanding and complying with current Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) rules. Highlights below — always check the FWC site for current regulations.

• License required for anglers age 16 and older. Saltwater and freshwater licenses are separate. Short-term (3-day, 7-day) and annual licenses are available.
• License must be in your possession (physical or digital) while fishing.
• Minimum size limits, bag limits, and seasonal closures apply — check FWC for the species you're targeting.
• Certain species (snapper, grouper) require the State Reef Fish Survey designation. Tarpon retention requires a separate tag.
• Catch-and-release best practices are encouraged — use de-hooking tools and minimize air exposure.
• No fishing in marked swimming zones or restricted marine protected areas.
• Salt & Springs staff are happy to answer general questions but are not legal advisors.
